The 6800 XT has more stream processors but an older architecture. The 9070 compensates with higher IPC, better RT hardware, and FSR 4. The power draw difference is significant — 220W versus 300W.
Rasterization
In raster, the RX 9070 is roughly 15–25% faster than the RX 6800 XT at 1440p and 4K. RDNA 4’s architectural improvements and higher clocks give it a real lead, despite having fewer stream processors.
The 6800 XT is still a strong 1440p card and handles 4K with settings tweaks, but it’s showing its age in the newest titles. It struggles with newer games that push past its architecture’s capabilities.

Ray tracing
