* AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) has seen a significant boost in compatibility, largely thanks to a recent update to the open-source utility OptiScaler.
* While FSR 4 natively supports a relatively small number of titles (around 65 so far) and is exclusive to AMD's latest RX 9000 series (RDNA 4) GPUs due to its AI-driven machine learning upscale, OptiScaler version 2025.7.19 now enables FSR 4 redirection for virtually any DirectX 11 or DirectX 12 game that initially shipped with FSR 2, DLSS 2, or Intel XeSS.
* This means users with RDNA 4 GPUs can manually integrate FSR 4 into hundreds of legacy titles by dropping a proxy DLL into the game's folder and making minor configurations, although it currently does not support Vulkan-based games or titles with incompatible anti-cheat systems.
