Windows Server 2016 – Connect a remote system, enable Rules

To connect to a remote system with MMC you must enable 4 rules in Windows Firewall, on the system to be managed. These 4 rules are:

  1.  COM+ Network Access, DCOM-In 
    • set-netfirewallrule –name complusnetworkaccess-dcom-in –enabled
      true
  2. Remote Event Log Management (NP-IN)
    • set-netfirewallrule –name remoteeventlogsvc-in-tcp –enabled
      true
  3. Remote Event Log Management (RPC)
    • set-netfirewallrule –name remoteeventlogsvc-np-in-tcp –enabled
      true
  4.  Remote Event Management (RPC-EPMAP)
    •  set-netfirewallrule –name remoteeventlogsvc-rpcss-in-tcp –
      enabled true
