Windows 10 added support for Virtual Desktops. With Virtual Desktops you can have many open applications in separate desktops and keep them open.
You can create a virtual desktop by clicking Task View Button
and then you click + New desktop
Now you can see that you have 2 desktops
You can switch desktop by:
- clicking Task View button and then select the Desktop you want to use.
- pressing the buttons Windows + Tab and then select the Desktop you want to use.
- pressing the button Windows + Ctrl + Left or Windows + Ctrl + Right to go previous or next virtual desktop
Let’s open 2 applications, one application in every virtual desktop
File explorer at the first desktop
and Microsoft Edge at the second desktop
Now, if you open the Task View you will see the open applications in every Virtual Desktop
If you want to delete a virtual desktop, move the mouse over the virtual desktop you want to delete and a red close button will appear. You just click that button.
