The properties window will appear. It has four tabs General, Sharing, Security, Previous Versions, Customize.

General – You can see the type, location, size of the item and when it was created. You can also rename the item at the top. You also have the options to make the file Read-only (you cannot edit the file) or Hidden. Advanced button will show the following window.

Sharing – Settings for item sharing to the Network

Security – You can change the item’s permissions, who can access it and what can do to the item

Previous – shows the previous saved versions of the item. You first need to enable Windows File History backup

An other way to open an item’s properties window is to right-click and click Properties
