Select an item you want to copy, right-click it and click Copy

Now select the location you want to copy the item to and right-click on empty space in the File explorer and click Paste

You can also use the buttons on the ribbon. Select a file and click Copy

Then click Paste at the location you wish to copy the item

You can copy and paste an item with keyboard shortcuts:

  • copy – ctrl + c
  • paste – ctrl + v

In command prompt you use the copy command

copy file.txt testDir\

copy – the command
file.txt – the filename. You can use a full path of a name if a file is in a different directory
testDir\ – the target location path

Move

Right-click an item you want to move, and click Cut

Now choose the location you wish, right-click the empty space and click Paste
